Frederik Fischer is the founder and managing director of Neulandia, a social enterprise focused on community-oriented regional development and new ways of living and working in rural areas. Through projects such as the “Summer of Pioneers” and the KoDörfer, he works with municipalities, civil society organisations and local stakeholders to develop new approaches to vacant properties, talent attraction and community-based forms of housing. His work focuses on how rural areas can be strengthened sustainably through social innovation, creative communities and new forms of collaboration.
Before founding Neulandia, Frederik worked as a journalist and launched several media start-ups. He studied political economy and communication studies in Aarhus, London, Amsterdam and Hanover. Frederik is an alumnus of the German Academic Scholarship Foundation, a member of the Future Council of the “Wir sind der Osten” initiative, and a Fellow of ProjectTogether.
