Tom Nuttall is The Economist’s chief Germany correspondent and head of the Berlin bureau. He previously served as Charlemagne columnist and as a correspondent in California, as well as a senior editor on the paper’s digital desk. Before joining The Economist he worked as an editor at the European Council on Foreign Relations, a think-tank, and a senior editor at Prospect magazine.
