More Information
Dr Jan Eichhorn is a Senior Lecturer in Social Policy at the University of Edinburgh. He is also the co-founder and Research Director of the Berlin-based non-partisan, independent think tank d|part. His work focusses on public understandings of political and economic debates and exploring the dissonances between policy makers and publics. Using quantitative and qualitative methods, Jan has led work in Scotland and the UK, as well as in Germany and comparatively across different EU member states in larger projects. Using the insights from the research he has briefed governments and political parties in those countries as well as the European Commission, worked closely with civil society organisations to inform their advocacy work, and frequently contributed insights to broadcast and print media outlets.
