Ruprecht Brandis is Director External Affairs of BP Europa SE for Germany, a subsidiary of the BP Group which covers Germany, Poland, Benelux, Austria and Switzerland. BP is Germany’s biggest oil company. Since 2010 Ruprecht is heading the government office of BP in Berlin, before that he was deputy head of BP’s Berlin office. From 2001 until 2003 Ruprecht practiced law in a Potsdam law firm. Prior to that he worked as a government official, from 1990 until 1996 in the Federal Economics Ministry’s Foreign Trade Department (interrupted by a one-year assignment to the German embassy in Washington D.C. in 1992/93) and in the Federal Chancellery as Head of the Energy and Industrial Policy Division.
